I recently downloaded the KaleidaCam app (when it was free for a day) and have been having some fun trying it out. This is one of the many images I have produced. I used the Perspective Correction app to add perspective, then imported the picture into ArtStudio to create a new header image for the blog. KaleidaCam is a fantastic little app with a great range of options even without the upgrade but I upgraded it anyway as it was only $1.29 AUD and I had saved $1.99 AUD by getting the app itself for nothing. Just love these free apps. The first thing I do every morning is fire up AppAdvice and check out the latest free apps.

Pen & Ink – More digital journaling tests
Just trying out another app that has been sitting unused since being downloaded. Not a very good drawing but I was mainly trying out the different tools and effects that are available.
This is another app that is a great contender for digital journaling, you can create as many sketchbooks as you need, add as many pages as you like to each book, duplicate pages and rearrange pages, even move them between books. Each page has ten layers, plus a page background layer, which lets you change the paper colour. There is also a photo layer available if you like to trace from a photograph. There is a wide range of tools in the free version, with more available as in app purchases.

Sculpting on the iPad
While the class were busily engaged experimenting with Mudbox on their desktop computers, I opened 123D Sculpt on the iPad and created this. The text was added using TitleFX.
It really is incredible what can be achieved using the iPad, and the app creators just keep coming up with more powerful apps all of the time.
